Solihull School
Solihull School, a prestigious, independent school based in Solihull, West Midlands approached Parallel Lines to address their safety concerns relating to step edges and raised drain holes across the school site.
The project aimed to proactively minimise trip hazards as the winter season approached.
The Problem
Solihull School identified a potential safety risk with step edges and raised drain holes on their premises. With the approaching winter season, there was a heightened concern about the increased likelihood of accidents due to potential trip hazards.
The Solution
Parallel Lines developed a targeted solution to enhance safety on campus, this started with an assessment of the site, which included a comprehensive assessment of step edges and raised drain holes across the school grounds.
Once the assessment was complete we implemented a strategic line-marking solution to delineate step edges and highlight raised drain holes.
The use of high-visibility colours and materials were used throughout the project to ensure clear visibility, even in low-light conditions.
We also used anti-slip coatings on the paint to further mitigate the risk of slips and falls.
Implementation
The implementation process focused on efficiency and precision as well as:
Detailed Planning
Collaborative planning with school authorities to identify key areas of concern.
Timely Execution
Swift and non-disruptive execution of line marking to minimise the impact on daily school activities.
Quality Assurance
Rigorous quality checks to guarantee the durability and effectiveness of the markings.
The line-marking solution not only addressed safety concerns but also contributed to the aesthetic appeal of the campus.
The customised design and high-visibility markings align with the school’s commitment to creating a secure and welcoming environment for students and staff.
